Cloud Bird Trail

Cloud Bird Trail is intended to be both an information repository and a social hub
for wanderers, explorers, freethinkers and travellers of all stripes.

It was created because I wanted something just like it, but could find nothing already existing that quite fit the bill.

Road Knowledge is a collection of useful techniques for life on the move. Travel Funds will give you some ideas as to how to raise some jack quickly and without a lot of corporate hassle.

Many People, some living and some not , share the spirit. Places I've either been to , plan to go to or just heard about somewhere. They're all worth a trip.

Ideas and Philosophy give you some things to turn over in your head at night. Culture contains examples of groups and movements that are not afraid to step out of the bounds of safe social mores , and create their own genres.

Equipment is useful stuff that you can make or scrounge , and places you can buy the stuff you can't make or scrounge.

Pictures show you the beauty of the world through other people's eyes. Poetry , through their words. And Art , through their unique talents.

Music is mostly just stuff that I like. I listen to a lot of different types of stuff and there's plenty of free mp3s to download.

Physical & Mental Exercise points you toward some things you can do that are good for you.

Books and Writing shows you where to read free books online , and recommends some of the books you have to pay for (or maybe just check out of a library).

Activism shows you groups that work to better the world for it's inhabitants.

Lodging and shelter helps you find places to get in out of the elements for awhile. I've got no problems with hotels , but they're pricey , so this is more geared towards creative and unpretentious ways of sheltering yourself.

Alternative communities links you to groups of people who are trying some new paths out for society.

Alternative education suggests some ideas to obtain higher education without so many of the barriers such as price and physical location.

I link to a huge variety of sites , and they can go dead sporadically. If a site seems to have vanished from the Web , you can try the Wayback Machine to see if it has old copies of the page archived. I also would appreciate your bringing any dead links to my attention.

I hope that you find the site useful. If you gain some knowledge here, please share some of your own. Email me at river_fireflies@yahoo.com with useful links or tips (or just to chat), or leave a comment in the Guestbook.

Thanks for stopping by.
